In the fall of 2018, the Carmelite Sisters of the Northern Province of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus began a new ministry through the construction of a 19,500 sq. ft. facility in Wauwatosa that will feature 15 apartments for women with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to residents, the ministry will also serve hundreds of people with special needs from the surrounding community who will join them for holistic formation and enrichment programs.

In February of 2019, the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (MACCW) undertook a new project. It has pledged to raise $20,000 over the next 5 years to financially support the construction costs of a prayer room for the Sisters, guests, and residents. We are very excited to be a small part of helping the Sisters to make their new ministry a reality. We have already had one supporter come forward with a promise to match the first $5,000 MACCW raises for this prayer space. Please join us in supporting the Carmelite Sisters as they move forward in their new ministry to women.
